Fall Fashion Week-Day 3

Today's photos got taken really quickly. It is far too hot today or I'm just super pregnant.
Or both.
I didn't see what the temperature was when I got dressed and I really should have.
I don't have as many options clothing wise this far into my pregnancy so getting dressed each day is always an adventure.

Here's my day 3.
Outfit details:
Shirt: Hand me down
Dress: Target
Yoga pants: Victoria's Secret
Boots: Thrifted
Necklace: Violet Bella

And this dress used to actually button up over my chest when I purchased it at the end of last year. Which I am sure will only get worse come breastfeeding time.
I miss not having boobs. :D
Exhibit A (literally).
Me in January taking pictures before we went to dinner at a friend's house.

Leena likes to gather when we are outside, heck, she likes to gather when we are inside.
Wildflowers, kumquats, basil, mint, ferns, random plant parts from a plant that resembles marijuana...

My daughter is adorable.

Pretty fluffy clouds.

The rest of the day will be spent making caprese salad.
Figuring out what to make for dinner.
Cleaning.
School work for the bebe.
Getting over feeling nauseous.
Resting a bit.
Snuggling.
Pretending it actually feels like autumn outside.
Warding off super friendly cat who keeps trying to plant himself on my (already very full) lap.
Bathing at some point.
Tickling Leena.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not getting sick.
Checking out all the lovely entries for day 3 later tonight.
Some sort of exercise: yoga and belly dancing or cardio and toning.
And other things that I can't think of at the moment.

Thank you for all your lovely comments!
You all look fabulous!

I've also extended the giveaway through Friday.
Don't forget to enter here.
Peace and Love.

Our Weekend.

It was a busy but good weekend over here.
On Friday Donna came over for a bit with her brood and ate lunch with Leena and I. Then they helped me clean house before a little get together I was having that night that she couldn't make it to, which is SUPER appreciated since I'm in the third trimester which means I am tired most of the time again along with my sciatica pain I get from too much bending and sitting, etc. (which all needs to happen for me to successfully clean). Thanks again Donna! She also then asked if Leena could have a sleep over at her house with her kids and to make it easier for me to host the party. She is amazing. Leena got to sleep in a tent set up in Kyllian's room. I got a picture later that night of her passed out on the couch at 8pm because she had so much fun she wore herself out. I hosted a craft party and a few of my girl friends came over and crafted and munched on snacks. It so so fun to be able to craft with my friends and chat it up. I didn't take any pictures because I was busy enjoying!

Then on Saturday I got ready for the day slowly, since Donna insisted I take my time, before heading over to pick up Leena. We hung out there for a bit and shared lunch together that Donna made us. After a bit we left to go see another friend and her son that Leena loves to play with. We ended up getting sushi for dinner and spending the night there as well! Leena had a weekend of sleep overs. She was so excited.

This morning after making blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs together (and of course eating it all together) the kids went outside to play a bit before we left. Jessica and I did a quick mini photo shoot while they played and had fun. It was much needed.

After we got home it started thundering and raining. My soul is happy. AND I'm so so happy that it has rained in the Austin/Bastrop, TX area! My friends out there have been dealing with wildfires and needed the rain badly.
We spent the day at home crafting, baking, editing, washing the dog, resting and having movie night. Leena fell asleep on the couch at 4 this evening which is unlike her! She doesn't nap anymore. She woke up screaming and crying, saying she was hurting. She was also feverish which lasted the rest of the night. I'm hoping it's just from being exhausted from the weekend and that she isn't getting sick. We made cinnamon rolls as well and ate those while watching Fantastic Mr. Fox on our little nest I made us on the floor.

It was a great weekend.

I took this video of baby moving around and kicking tonight. I know it's hard to see but watch closely. :D

Enjoy!
Happy 29 weeks!

Peace and Love.

Lounging

Today we'll be spending the day having cinnamon rolls for lunch, exercising, cleaning and just loving on each other. Also, nursing Leena's phantom foot pain she says she has.
I started working on the baby's room yesterday. It still has a long way to go but it'll get there!

My big girl helping me make cinnamon rolls.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Peace and Love!
P.S. I'm 26 weeks today!

Spring Cleaning?

Since we've moved into this house, you know 3 years ago, we have never had a fully organized house. Organization has never been a strong suit of mine...or my husband's. With the impending home birth and life as a family of 4 I decided it was definitely time. We've made a ton of progress in the last few days but it's not anywhere close to where I'd like it to be.
Is it bad that I told Joey that for once I want his mom, when she comes to visit at the end of the year, to be proud of how our house looks? That poor woman. Every time she's come she's basically hidden in the laundry room battling our laundry monster. I am DETERMINED to not let that be the case when she comes in December.
Right now, this is the state of our living room. Since I've taken this photo Joey has gone back to going through our million papers organizing them into "Shred for homemade paper", "File away", and trash.
We also have gotten one room done with painting and I love it.
See new color!

Next on the agenda is sell baby stuff we no longer need/want.
Paint the baby's room.
Put together the baby's room.
Sew. Lots of projects.
Get my sewing area organized and super cute looking.
And battle that freaking laundry monster.

We are going to have a busy 18 weeks.

Oh and can someone please tell my baby girl to stop growing so fast!

And this little one is wreaking havoc on my ab and low back muscles. This is how you will find me at random times throughout the day. It seriously helps to give my diastasis recti a small break and have the rebozo tight enough across my back to give those muscles a break as well.

Hope you all have a productive day and weekend!

Peace and Love!

This Journey

I have moments lately of "OH DEAR LORD, I'M GOING TO BE A MOMMY TO TWO!"
It still hasn't fully hit me but when it does it hits me in all different ways.
I am getting more comfortable, even though slightly in shock, with being a mom of two.
I am not worried anymore that Leena will feel replaced or jealous. I know there will be moments but mainly, I know, she is taking this journey with me and will come out the other side as an amazing big sister.
She cuddles my belly and tells the baby she loves him or her.
She kisses on my belly and says goodnight to the baby.
I still wonder how I will do taking on this new role.
With all the preparations we are making as a family I know it will be a beautiful transition, even if there are difficult moments.
From the day we found out we were having Leena till today we've been constantly growing.
Constantly learning.
Constantly improving overall.
We are definitely not perfect but we are never staying stagnant in our parenting methods.
This baby.
This life.
This birth.
This soul.
It's all going to be an adventure.
One I can't wait to embark on.

Peace and Love.

Busy Days

Joey got home on Wednesday night and that was a great surprise. We went to an all you can eat sushi buffet that I got a $20 voucher for for $10. We were a bit skeptical because the price was so low for what I would expect all you can eat sushi would be, plus, buffet style sushi kind of freaks us out. When we got there we were pleasantly surprised. The sushi was being made fresh right there and it was kept cool very well. The selection was actually pretty awesome and it also came with dessert. Can't beat that! hah!
Yesterday we decided to go see Cars 2 after running some errands in the morning. We ran into a friend at the mall and Leena had so much fun playing with Brayden. They were even going to see the same movie at the same time so we all sat together. It was very cute.
Leena is a "player".

I still like the story line of the first better but Cars 2 is definitely worth seeing.
Today we had a busy busy day. I ran food over to my friend who just had a baby 3 weeks ago and chatted with her a bit. Then I ran home, we ate lunch and then hopped in the car to drive to Lafayette, which is 1 1/2 hours away.
Junebug is growing spectacularly. The ultrasound tech saw what the sex of the baby but we were strong and said we still didn't want to know. She said it wouldn't be in the report either. ;)
Profile
After that we headed across the parking lot to a bread place that we've now had two people recommend to us, Great Harvest Bread Company. They give out free samples of WHOLE bread slices. I tried the Whole Wheat Cinnamon Blast and let me tell you that was totally drool worthy. We walked out of there with a loaf of the cinnamon bread, some challah rolls for dinner, a blueberry and a pumpkin muffin, doggie treats and a pumpkin teacake that we are going to take to Donna's for our forth of July celebration. Joey went to the bathroom and I was left to add more to our bag for checkout. Probably not smart to leave the pregnant girl by herself in front of a counter full of bread.
After that we went to a produce market across the street and then headed to the crystal/bead shop to get some crystal beads. I got special ones just for bracelets I am going to make for my blessingway as a protection over me in childbirth.
And then. We came home.

17 week pictures:
Taken by Joey.
Edited by me.
And in case you were wondering:
Shirt: Hot Topic
Belly Band: Bellysock and scored it for 1/2 off!
Shorts: Maternity pants from when I was pregnant with Leena. I cut them to make them more summer pregnancy friendly.

It was a good day but I still have a super excited but long night ahead of me. I seriously can't wait! I'll let you know more about this long night when the time is right. :)
Peace and Love!

Facebook and such.

I originally started my facebook for close friends and family. Now I feel like people just find me annoying with what I post or my ideals. I've always been afraid to say what I think and I am coming out of that shell. I shouldn't be afraid to post something because I am not comfortable showing my true self to someone on my friends list. My blog mainly has given me a great outlet for these thoughts and well, it should be, it's my blog.

I've always found it odd when people I haven't spoken to for years or even all the much while we were in high school together, every single day, request to be my friend on facebook. Is it like a preemptive class reunion? Are they just trying to see what has become of me? Did I become a hobo? Did I go to med school? Am I in a loony bin? Am I making less money than them? Did I become a *gasp stay at home mom and CHOOSE to not even go to college?

I love, well more like LOVED facebook. Too much so actually. It gave me that grasp into the outside world. It became my addiction to have those relationships albeit relationships that for the most part, mean nothing to my core being. I read too much into text on a screen and people, I included, tend to stir the pot because they are sitting comfortably in their chair safe from any real repercussion.

I really can't go one conversation with my husband while he's offshore without mentioning something that was posted on facebook. That's just so lame to me. I should be filling those phone calls I have with a love story. An incredible love story between my husband and I. Adding to our strong foundation. Adding more rooms to our love nest.

I am a bleeding heart. If I see someone I don't even know on a "friend's" page being nasty or mean, I will speak up. I don't think this is a bad thing BUT I can't do it anymore on facebook. People are generally too callus if they have that keyboard in front of them and someone disagrees with their comment or post. I get involved. I think it is okay for someone to get involved even if they don't know either person or group of people at all. I hope more kids would speak up to the bully picking on someone in school, on the street, in line. I just need to stop having those situations arise EVERYDAY, and multiples times a day usually!
I need to walk away.
I need to clean out my circle of people around me.
I need less drama and more REAL.
Selfish? Not at all. I need this for my family.

I am not anti facebook at all. I'm anti fake relationship. If someone does delete you from facebook really take a step back and see if that facebook connection really has ANY impact on your life.

On that note as well. I love my blog readers. I do. Please don't take it personally if I don't accept a friend request on facebook. My blog is a great place for us to build relationships. I just have a hard time keeping up with all the people posting everyday on facebook. It's overwhelming for me. I promise I'm not being snooty. :D

I think that is enough rambling for tonight. And I really hope this is coherent.

Peace and Love!
P.S.
I think Leena has enjoyed this day with her Auntie and Uncle.
This is post night terror however.

Peace

Today has been spent cleaning. My house, mainly my living room, looks messier than it did before. There are spots where I can "see the light" but man, I need to deep clean/organize more often. I just wanted to stop by really quick to remind you all that the deadline for sending in pieces of fabric for Leena's blanket is quickly approaching. I've gotten some fabulous pieces from wonderful people. I am so excited. Remember though, I would like to have all the pieces by March 9th so that I have a month to work on the blanket to give it to her for her birthday!
Details here.

Relax.
Take a step back.
And remember to enjoy all the little things.

My blissful moment today.

And don't forget the giveaway!
Peace and Love

Just hanging out

Around here when we haven't been spending our time with Ms. Donna and the brood or creating or making messes we've just been hanging out.

Enjoying the sun.
Soaking it up.
Breathing.
Cuddling.
Giggling.
Time outs.
Pretending.

Living.

Leena likes to dress herself.

The other day I got the pleasure of photographing my friend's 3 week old. I already have baby fever, coupled with trying for baby number two, taking photos of this cutie made it 1000% stronger. Gah.
He.
Smelled.
Wonderful.
I wish I could bottle newborn scent.

Which by the way, I find it funny when people...like I just did...let the world know we are "trying". That may be too much information but welcome to our lives. Wink wink. SURPRISE, we're in love.

ANYWAYS.

Leena picked flowers, like she does anytime she finds any in the yard, and gave me a daffodil today. It went perfectly with my outfit. She's a genius.
Dress: Skeleton Key Vintage
And um, Hello Technicolor Dream Dress!
It's my birthday next month...just thought I'd throw that out there. ;)
Jeggings: Target
Shoes: Modcloth
Belt: Thrifted
Note to self. "Self, you're not a cat. You can't fit nicely on the ledge."

Outfit from a few days ago.
Shirt and Necklace: Violet Bella
Jeggings: Target
Boots and Belt: Thrifted from same store
Undershirt: Goodwill
Sweater: Gift from Laura of Violet Bella

Joey surprised us by coming home Friday night after two days of not hearing from him. Not sure how long he's home for but we are getting as much of him as we can. He also started on our raised garden beds in the backyard. Can't wait to have our fully functioning organic garden.

On the 22nd, two days from now, it will be my blog's one year birthday! What better way to spread the celebration cheer than a giveaway? I will announce this tomorrow so stay tuned!

Peace and Love!
